We were fortunate enough have this event on a beautiful morning. The location at Cheesequake was perfect. It was a relaxing morning strolling through the woods and meadows while learning about a very simple photography technique, shallow depth of field. Even though I've used this method in the past, this outing was a great way to "jump-start" my enthusiasm for photography. Bruce is a very patient instructor. He answers simple questions with language we can all understand. He shares what he photographs in order for us to learn more about composition and lighting, etc. I always enjoy his photo op excursions.

I don't often have time to plan trips to photograph the sunsets and sunrises. I often spontaneously visit local spots when the sky gives hints of a beautiful display to come. This was one of those moments.

This was taken during a photo workshop "Composition in the Park" on 3/8/2025 lead by Bruce Mirinov. We were at Fort Hancock at the end of Sandy Hook. It is also known as Fort Hancock & Sandy Hook Proving Grounds. It protected the New York Metropolitan area from the Spanish-American War through the Cold War. Sandy Hook is also known for having the oldest surviving Light House in the United States. I was inspired by the composition framed by the two Army barracks with the beautiful blue cloudy

It was one of those Sundays, when we had called it a day and were lazing around. Suddenly through the kitchen window I saw the Sunset hour colors getting intense. Couldn't resist, just grabbed my Canon R6 and put the jacket on and drove out, following the colors to the next sub lanes of the next development by me. That was all the time left. The skies kept changing and some clouds rolled in to make this dramatic view in front of me. I had to stop and keep clicking many angles of the scene. Th

I had spent the better part of the day moving silently through the edges of the chase looking to photograph deer. It was one of those days that seemed perfect on paper: overcast skies that softened the light, barely a breath of wind, and a camera battery at full charge. But nature is nothing if not humbling. The deer remained ghost-like, unseen despite hours of quiet patience and soft steps.By late afternoon my hopes had dimmed so I began the slow walk back to the car. The path wound through

Engine 9350 is a Diesel/Electric Locomotive which was built in February 2012 by General Electric and produces 4400HP which is capable to propel it to a top speed of 75mph. I love to photograph trains whenever I get a chance. To me they are iconic.

The photo was taken on the shore of Lake Ontario at Woodbine Beach Park. Whenever you take a photo of a sunrise or sunset, it is difficult to predict how nature will show you. Sometimes expectations are not met, but sometimes you receive a modest but magnificent gift. There was a small puddle on the shore of the lake from a recent rain and it was in it that the miracle of the sunrise appeared. Shot on a Samsung 21s mobile phone and processed in the phone in the Snapseed program.
